I landed early this morning and quickly got through customs. My bag seems to have been searched but nothing confiscated, which is about the best I could have hoped for. There's a bus which left from the airport - driven by a guy apparently speaking English but whom I couldn't understand a word from - that stopped immediately in front of the hostel, which turned out to be pretty nice and was happy to take my bags early. I immediately hit the nearby Tesco to grab breakfast in the form of some adequate but uninteresting bread that was less than a pound. I spent the rest of the morning wandering the city and climbing up the large rocky overlook known as Arthur's Seat. Really good views of the whole area and a surprising amount of blackberries for snacking. I walked back to the hostel (stopping at the Museum of Edinburgh along the way) and once it was 2:00, took a nap until 5 or so since it had been over 24 hours since I'd last slept. Dinner was microwave tikka masala (not bad actually) and frozen peas since I was under a time crunch to attend the hostel's event for the night - a bonfire on the beach. This was a ton of fun, though I noticed a strange trend where the hostel volunteers were extremely social and outgoing but none of the other guests were. This meant that I met a ton of people who were employed by the hostel and not really anyone else. That's ok; they have no vacancy for tomorrow so I'll have to find somewhere else to stay anyway. Looking to see the castle if possible since that's one of the big attractions in the city, and one of relatively few remaining ones. Tomorrow might be my last day here since while it's really nice, I'm thinking visits elsewhere in Scotland might pad out this leg of the trip.

I also can't get this site to upload my pictures, so those will have to be somewhere separate.
