I had a call in the afternoon with the company I'm joining about a visit to their UK offices. This, in conjunction with the terrible weather that was a mixture of snow and rain, made me really not want to go outside. As such, I barely did anything today. I met a cool American guy and some of his friends, so we played cards for a few hours in the common room. At one point it came up that he was also a Melee player, so we synced one of the hostel's PS4 controllers up to my laptop and took turns playing sets online. Melee is so incredibly precise that even the relatively minor issues we had with the mapping of analogue inputs made the game almost unplayable, but I actually managed to take a couple games in spite of it all. I've definitely missed being able to sit down and spend an afternoon listening to a documentary while playing some games.
Tomorrow we're going to a monastery and the lake region in the southern mountains of the country. It's supposed to be really beautiful and a lot of places run trips there. A lot of those places have cancelled their trips due to all the snow the mountains have got over the past few days, but ours is still on.
